Cannon Pool will be continuing the fun and competition by supporting our very own competitive swim team.  The "Cannon Cudas" (previously known as the Cannon Cruisers) enters its third season in 2011.  The long ago swim team name of the "Skeeters" has changed, but the tradition of fun, learning and team-work lives on!  Swimmers from 5 to 17 years of age have competed with other area pools and have had fun in the process.  In 2011, the Cudas will compete against Heather Downs, MVP, Forest Hills and Northville pools.  Emphasis will be placed on improving stroke techniques and times; conditioning and having FUN.  Practices are held in the mornings and are non-mandatory.

We are excited to begin the season with a new coach, Adam Vera, who will bring energy and experience to the program.  Adam is the girl's varsity swim coach at Catholic Central and the assistant coach for the boy's varsity team.  We will miss John Hams, our leader for the past two years.  We wish him all the best as he embarks on new adventures.

The Cannon Cuda's mission is to promote learning, teamwork and improve swimming skills in an encouraging and positive environment.  We welcome swimmers of all abilities who are interested in developing their skills as competitive swimmers.  Cannon Pool will host three meets this summer!  Excitement is in the air!

Here is the 2011 schedule: Cost for the Cannon Cuda Swim Team is $75 for the first child in a member family, $50 for each additional in a member family.  Non member costs are $100 for each team swimmer and the additional charges can be applied towards a pool membership.  This cost can be included in the payment plan for members.  Compare this to other area swim clubs at $135 per child and you can see why being a member is a great benefit!
